Jungle Jim:

Interesting. Here's a post about the UNH field and non-green fields in general:

http://www.tommcmahon.net/2008/11/another-blue-football-field-ralph-f-dellacamera-stadium-at-the-university-of-new-haven.html

According to this post, the NCAA has no rules on this. Who knows. Someone other than me should get the definitive word from the NCAA, an organization known the world over for the efficiency and clarity of its rules.

Your insider source at Boise State has no idea what he is talking about. There is no such rule in the NCAA, and the University of New Haven will open next season with a brand new BLUE football field.

This is a piece of bleeding edge journalism. If you happen to write a follow-up piece, and you reconnect with the athletic department, would you ask them if the field creates blue grass stains on uniforms?
