Looks like I can start coming out of hibernation. Softball season is here.

I like women’s softball for the fire of its competitors. I would rank it second only to volleyball on the fieryness scale.

Who is extra fiery for the Terps this year?

Senior Devon Williams...yes

Sophomore Kerry Hickey...yes

Assistant coach Courtney Scott...hell yes

Head coach Laura Watten...milf. I mean, yes.

So as you can see, lots of fiery competitors for the Terps this year. How about the team as a whole? Well, last year was the third-winningest season in school history, but they had a lot of graduations. So it will be an uphill climb for the team to reach its goal of claiming an NCAA Regional bid. And unfortunately, uhh, they’ve started 0-5. Although luckily for them, the entire ACC isn’t much to write home about in softball. So maybe they have a puncher’s chance. If nothing else, they’ve got the fire.
